2 College Students Held Without Bail in Rape Case

Twenty-year-old Mohammed Aljohani and 22-year-old Tareq Alharbi, both of Saudi Arabia, were ordered held without bail

The second pair of Johnson & Wales University students charged with sexual assault have been ordered held without bail.

Twenty-year-old Mohammed Aljohani and 22-year-old Tareq Alharbi, both of Saudi Arabia, were ordered held without bail Wednesday until a bail hearing set for Oct. 19.

Police say three defendants met two 18-year-old women at a Providence, Rhode Island, nightclub. Investigators believe the women were drugged and assaulted at a Pawtucket apartment last Friday.

Police say the women were given an open beer bottle and that they smoked marijuana and hookah. They say one of the women was assaulted by three men and the other told police she was groped by one of them.

The university has suspended the men pending an investigation.

Attorneys for the defendants say their clients deny the allegations.
