2 Plead Not Guilty in Theft of City-Owned Snowplows

Authorities say the trucks were stolen from a fenced-in area at Cranston Stadium last December

Two Rhode Island men charged in connection with the 2015 theft of two Cranston-owned trucks fitted with snowplows have pleaded not guilty.

Forty-two-year-old Jason Lehman, of Warwick, and 48-year-old John Lyons, of Providence, were arraigned last week on charges that include larceny and destruction of public property.

Authorities say the trucks were stolen from a fenced-in area at Cranston Stadium last December. The thieves drove through a locked gate.

The trucks were found abandoned in Providence on Dec. 27, but the plows had been removed. The plows remain missing.

Prosecutors say the pair has been arrested a combined 52 times.

Lehman's attorney says his client has a full-time job, takes care of his family and doesn't have time "to do this many criminal acts.''
