4th Person Charged in Shooting of RI Father, Son

Police say 18-year-old Nicholas Armenti is charged with conspiracy to commit felony assault

A fourth man has been charged in connection with the shooting death in May of a 46-year-old man and the injuring of his 23-year-old son outside a North Providence, Rhode Island, market.

Police say 18-year-old Nicholas Armenti is charged with conspiracy to commit felony assault.

Hernan Avila Jr. was fatally shot and Hernan Avila III was injured outside Sam's Food Stores on May 15.

Police say while there was no clear motive to the attacks, police think it began with an argument between the younger Avila and one of the men facing charges.

Family members say the father jumped in front of his son to protect him from the bullets.

Police are seeking a fifth suspect thought to be involved.
