Authorities in Rhode Island are pleading for the public’s help in their search for a woman accused of stealing about $100 in frozen shrimp.

Cranston police said they are looking to identify a Stop & Shop shopper who allegedly took off with the frozen crustaceans.

The theft happened at about 3 p.m. on Sept. 13, at the grocery chain’s Atwood Avenue location, authorities said. Police said a woman was carrying a basket in her right arm and left with the unpaid shrimp after she was confronted by loss-prevention.

The person of interest is described as a woman in her twenties who was wearing a black shirt and red yoga pants at the time of the incident. They said she left in a black SUV.

Anyone who recognizes the woman is asked to contact Detective Paula Duffy at 401-942-2211.
