Apparent Human Remains Found in RI

State medical examiners have been called to North Kingstown after someone found what appear to be human bones.

Police told WJAR-TV that the bones were found Thursday by a person who was searching for deer antlers along Route 1A near Route 138.

Local police say there are no current missing person cases, but there is a case from 2008 that is still open. Authorities didn't provide details of the 2008 case.

A database maintained by the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System lists 14 people missing in Rhode Island, but none in North Kingstown.
