Authorities arrested two Boston men in Providence after being tipped off about a possible gang dispute.
Police stopped two vehicles Saturday night and seized two guns.
Officers stopped a car near the Providence Place Mall and found a revolver and a sock filled with bullets. A 23-year-old Boston man, Elton Riberio, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit.
Police stopped a second vehicle at about the same time, but it sped off and crashed into another police cruiser. Police found a semiautomatic handgun in that car. Two Boston men were taken into custody. One of them was released without charges.
Twenty-four-year-old Elliot Takari was charged with possessing a gun without a permit.
It wasn't clear if Takari and Riberio have lawyers who could respond to the allegations.
