Fire Heavily Damages Smithfield, Rhode Island Breakfast Spot

A fire early Friday morning severely damaged a Rhode Island breakfast spot.

The Smithfield Fire Department responded to the Coffee and Cream restaurant at Routes 146A and 104 at about 3 a.m., according to WJAR-TV.

Crews were able to knock the fire down but the building was heavily damaged.

No injuries were reported.

A post on the restaurant's Facebook page Friday morning said it's unclear how long repairs will take.

"We will be back before you know it serving your favorite breakfast foods very soon," the post said.

WJAR-TV reports that the restaurant is on the same property as the Beef Barn, which was not damaged.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
