The grandson of former Providence, Rhode Island, Mayor Buddy Cianci has been arrested in connection with a shooting over the weekend.
Joseph Cianci, 18, is charged with possession of a weapon, but not a firearm, according to WJAR.
On Saturday, officers responded to reports of shots fired at 675 Plainfield St. A Buick Skylark had crashed into a fence near Neutaconkanut Park.
According to the incident report, Cianci and his friend 18-year-old Joshua Conti of Bristol were sitting in the Buick when a man approached the driver's side window and started shooting.
He is expected to be arraigned Thursday.
