Father Charged in Death of 7-Month-Old Baby in Warwick, Rhode Island

Police say the baby girl was found by first responders in a house in Warwick, Rhode Island around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday

A Rhode Island man is facing charges in connection with the death of his 7-month-old daughter on Tuesday night.

Police were called to a home on Airway Road in Warwick around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after the child's mother found her unresponsive and called 911, according to WJAR. The child was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The baby's father, 37-year-old Ryan Beeley, was the only other person in the home at the time. Police said he is facing a felony charge of cruelty and neglect and is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.

Beeley was also hospitalized on Tuesday night for a medical condition, but was alert and able to talk with investigators.

The cause of the child's death remains under investigation. Police said it appears her death was not intentional.
