A 28-year-old man has been charged with murder in the killing of a woman police said he met on a sex site in Providence, Rhode Island, reports necn affiliate WJAR.
The state attorney general on Tuesday announced a secret indictment charging Daniel Tejeda with first-degree murder.
Police said 24-year-old Ashley Masi was found unresponsive in the bedroom of her River Avenue apartment on March 31. The mother of three had been strangled.

During the investigation, Providence Police said they learned that Tejeda responded to an advertisement for escort services that Masi posted on backpage.com.
During the months of March and April, police said they netted a total of 35 arrests of men soliciting for sex on the website.
Police said Tejeda was being held at the Wyatt Detention Center in Central Falls on unrelated charges. His arraignment in the murder has not yet been scheduled.
