A 25-year-old Providence, Rhode Island, man who deputy sheriffs subdued with a stun gun after he became violent when jurors convicted him in October will serve 20 years behind bars.
The Providence Journal reports Douglas Huntley was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with 20 to serve, Wednesday in Providence Superior Court for plotting an armed break-in at an apartment in the city's Federal Hill neighborhood.
Huntley was found guilty Oct. 30 of possessing a firearm while committing a crime of violence, conspiracy, breaking and entering and carrying an unlicensed pistol.
After the verdict was read, an enraged Huntley began cursing and kicked over a table in the courtroom. He was forcibly removed after being shot with a stun gun. Huntley later apologized to the judge.
