Searchers have found an 18-year-old Rhode Island man alive and well after he went missing on a hike in the Shoshone National Forest in northwestern Wyoming.

The Park County Sheriff's Office reports that searchers from Park County Search and Rescue found Nolan Reifsteck of Wakefield, Rhode Island on Wednesday afternoon.

Reifsteck had left a campground in the area Tuesday morning saying he was taking a quick hike but did not return.

The search began on Tuesday and continued Wednesday. It involved ground crews as well as aircraft from the Civil Air Patrol and a helicopter from the Wyoming National Guard.

Searchers first found clothing belonging to Reifsteck and then located him in a drainage. He was somewhat disoriented and dehydrated but otherwise uninjured. He was released to his parents.
