Nightclub Suspended 50 Days After Double Shooting

A Providence, Rhode Island, nightclub is staying closed for at least another month following a double shooting.

The city's Board of Licenses on Wednesday decided to suspend the liquor license at the Van Gogh Lounge for 50 days. Ten days of the suspension have been served.

The club's owners will also have to pay a $2,500 fine, create a security plan and hire police details once it reopens.

The attorney for Van Gogh Lounge says he will likely recommend that the club's owners not appeal the decision and that he believes the board members made the right call.

Police say the shooting stemmed from a fight that began inside the nightclub. A man was shot in the chest and another was shot in the legs.
