Fire officials say a demolition may have helped ignite a blaze that broke out at a vacant business in Rhode Island.

Deputy Chief Keith Sullivan says firefighters extinguished the flames within an hour of breaking broke out at a vacant Central Falls business Wednesday night.

Sullivan says the fire began around 8:30 p.m. in the metal roof decking on the third floor of the Osram Sylvania Lighting plant. He says the building does not appear to have sustained much damage and that the fire didn't activate alarm systems since it started in the roof.

Although the building has sprinklers, Sullivan says they did not activate since the fire was above the sprinkler heads.

No one was injured.

The state fire marshal's office is investigating.
