Owners of RI Electronics Store Arrested in Nude Photos Probe

The owners of a Rhode Island electronics store were arrested Friday in connection with an ongoing nude photos investigation, according to state police.

Gary Gagne, 58, and Daniel Anton, 35, both of Jamestown, were charged with soliciting another to commit a crime and conspiracy.

Both men were arraigned at Second Division District Court and released on $30,000 personal recognizance with a special bail condition of limited internet use. It's unclear if they have attorneys.

Police said the men are accused of asking Flint Audio-Video employee George Quintal to illegally access and share nude images found on customers' cell phones and computers.

Authorities said when customers would bring their electronic device in for repairs to the Middletown store like computers or cell phones, Quintal would allegedly search them for images and share them with Gagne and Anton without the victim's knowledge or permission.

According to WJAR-TV, when Quintal was arrested in June on similar charges, Gagne and Anton said they were "shocked and outraged."

Following a police investigation, arrest warrants were obtained for Gagne and Anton.

State police have identified several victims in photos and videos and are still working to identify more.

Any customers who think they may have had their photos or videos compromised is urged to contact police at 401-921-8152.
