A Warwick, Rhode Island, man is headed to court after police say he drove drunk with a loaded gun in his vehicle.
Police say 55-year-old Franco Didomenico was charged with carrying a weapon while intoxicated, resisting arrest, DUI, refusal to submit to a chemical test and threats to public officials.
Authorities say an officer investigating reports of an erratic driver tried to pull over Didomenico's vehicle late Saturday night, but he sped off.

The officer followed the vehicle which eventually stopped approximately 1,000 feet away in a parking lot.
When the officer tried to take the driver into custody, he allegedly became verbally abusive and physically resisted.
When asked, police say the driver admitted to having a gun, and a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol was found in the vehicle.
