Police: Restaurant Owner's Wife Scares off Robbers

Police say the wife of the owner of a Chinese restaurant in Providence, Rhode Island, stopped two would-be robbers by attempting to grab the bandana concealing one of their identities.

The Providence Journal reports the men, one armed with a machete, marched into the Khoo Kitchen around 10:40 p.m. Friday and demanded money from the register.

Lt. Roger Aspinall says the burglar with the machete used the weapon to knock over everything on the counter before going around it to get the cash.

While the two intruders were on the other side of the counter, Aspinall says the owner's wife reached for one of the men's bandana - causing them both to flee.

No arrests have been made. Police are reviewing video surveillance from the restaurant.
