Police in Rhode Island say a man attacked his friend with a crowbar after a night of drinking then later brought the same crowbar to a hospital where the friend was recovering and struck him again.
West Warwick police say 41-year-old Dennis Walsh and 41-year-old Michael Difranco are facing charges.
Police say Difranco had gotten into a physical altercation with his girlfriend at his home Friday night when Walsh struck him in the head with a crowbar.
Walsh fled and Difranco was taken to Kent Hospital for treatment.

Police say Walsh went to the hospital with the crowbar in his pajama pants and hit Difranco again until hospital staff could intervene.
Walsh is facing a charge of felony assault. It could be determined if he has an attorney.
