Fire officials in Rhode Island are offering up to $5,000 for information on a fire that significantly damaged a church.
The fire happened Monday at around 6 a.m. at the New Life Worship Center in Smithfield and took about half an hour for firefighters to tame.
The Providence Journal reports the blaze started in an outside trash storage area. The church was built in 1997 and is part of a complex that also includes a school building and parking lot.

Officials including the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives determined the blaze was intentionally set. It resulted in significant damage to the building's exterior and interior smoke damage.
The state Arson Watch Reward Program is offering up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
