State Police Searching for Minimum Security Inmate Who Walked Away from Work Detail

The inmate walked away from the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston, Rhode Island

The state Department of Corrections says 44-year-old Rony Martinez-Pereyra was working on the department's grounds when he fled around 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Martinez-Peraya received a three-year sentence for drug and gun charges.

Authorities say he has tribal tattoos on his right arm and "Crystal'' tattooed on his left arm.

State police and the Office of Inspections are investigating. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to call state police detectives.
