Teen Charged With Making Bomb Threats

A Newport, Rhode Island, teenager has been charged with fifteen counts of making bomb threats to various schools and businesses in the state.

According to Rhode Island State Police, the juvenile, who attends Rogers High School, was interviewed and arrested Friday following a two-month investigation.

Police say threats were made in Providence, Bristol, Newport, Warwick, East Providence, Cranston, Tiverton and Middletown.

The teen was held at the Rhode Island Training School and will appear before the Family Court Wednesday.

He is also facing two counts of extortion and blackmail and one charge of access to a computer for fraudulent purposes.
