Two Rhode Island men have pleaded guilty to federal charges in connection with a drug lab that authorities say sparked an industrial fire in Providence.
Christopher White, of Warwick, pleaded guilty Monday to endangering human life while illegally manufacturing a controlled substance. Graeme Marshall, of Cranston, pleaded guilty to money laundering.
Authorities say White and Marshall operated an indoor plant-growing equipment company that was one of two tenants in the building destroyed by the 2015 blaze.
Prosecutors say the defendants operated a drug lab that used a highly flammable liquid to turn marijuana into butane hash oil. Investigators had found butane tanks, tubes filled with marijuana and other items after the fire.
The men were among five charged last year in connection with the illegal production of butane hash oil.
