Vacant Building Near Mill Catches Fire a 2nd Time

Fire officials say a vacant building located on the property of West Warwick's Old Lippitt Mill in Rhode Island caught fire for the second time this year.

The blaze broke out at the triple-decker building at the intersection of Wakefield and Main streets sometime after 10 p.m. Sunday.

The structure sits across the street from West Warwick's Fire Station 2. Main Street was shut down to traffic while fire crews attacked the blaze as smoke poured out of the building.

An investigation to determine the fire's cause is underway.

The building has now managed to stay standing despite suffering damage in two separate fires, the first of which occurred on January 19. Four suspects have been charged in connection to the first blaze.
