Woman Sentenced to Two Life Sentences in Girlfriend's Killing

Couple had argued just prior to 2014 shooting

A Johnston, Rhode Island, woman has been sentenced to two consecutive life sentences in the 2014 shooting death of her girlfriend.

Attorney General Peter Kilmartin announced that 43-year-old Sendra Beauregard was sentenced on Friday in Providence Superior Court.

Beauregard was found guilty by a jury in November of second-degree murder and discharging a firearm resulting in murder in the killing of 50-year-old Pamela Donahue.

Donahue was found unresponsive by her roommate in their Providence apartment Dec. 2, 2014. Emergency personnel discovered a gunshot wound to her upper chest.

Donahue's roommate told investigators the couple had recently argued. Investigators say they found several hostile and threatening text messages Beauregard sent to Donahue in the days leading up to the killing.

Police later found a spent shell casing on the floor of Beauregard's car.
