A Rhode Island man drowned Friday in New Hampshire's Ammonoosuc River.
Thirty-seven-year-old William P. Glad of Cumberland was swimming in the Upper Falls section of the river in Crawford's Purchase.
New Hampshire State Police withheld Glad's identity until family members were notified of his death.
Police remind people to be careful if water appears to be unsafe and to read posted safety information.
