In the next few weeks, close to a million students will head back to classrooms around the Commonwealth.
Massachusetts Secretary of Education, Matthew Malone, joined NECN to talk about the end of summer and the return to school.
While school may have been out of session for the summer, Malone was busy at work traveling to many summer camps.
"We have a new safety and security task force to help schools stay secure," said Malone in regards to school safety.
Malone also encourages high school seniors to get out and look at the many great state colleges in Massachusetts.
