A swimmer who went missing Wednesday in Newbury, Massachusetts, has been found dead, authorities confirmed.
The U.S. Coast Guard said in a tweet around 9:30 p.m. that the body of the missing man who had been sought in the Parker River had been found.
The Coast Guard sent a rescue boat to help in the search. Coast Guard officials said police were initially called for two people going into the water about 4:30 p.m.
The other swimmer is safe, the Coast Guard said.

State police say the man is believed to have jumped from his boat to swim in the river.
