Second Suspect Charged in Home Invasion

Thomas Mahan was arrested for an October home invasion in Burlington, Massachusetts.

A second suspect has been arrested in connection to an armed home invasion last month in Burlington, Massachusetts.

Police arrested 20-year-old Thomas Mahan at his Haverhill home Monday. He is charged with four counts of home invasion and four counts of assault with intent to commit armed robbery.

Mahan also faces a conspiracy charge.

According to Burlington Police, Mahan was one of several people who broke into a home in October, armed with baseball bats.

On the day of the incident, 20-year-old Connor John Tufts, also of Haverhill, was arrested on similar charges, as well as a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60.

Police say they arrived at the scene on Church Lane in the early morning hours on Oct. 3, noticing that two men in their 20s, who were identified as sons of the homeowner, held down Tufts. The sons told the officers Tufts was one of several suspects who broke into the home as one of them was playing video games with a friend.

Mahan was expected to be arraigned in Woburn Monday afternoon.

Burlington Police continue to investigate.
