Sentencing Postponed for Heroin Dealer Facing 45 Years

36-year-old Abdul Rodriguez was scheduled to be sentenced on Friday

A New Hampshire judge has postponed the sentencing of a convicted heroin dealer and reputed member of the Latin Kings street gang until October.

Foster's Daily Democrat reports 36-year-old Abdul Rodriguez was scheduled to be sentenced on Friday in Strafford County Superior Court but his hearing was pushed to Oct. 3.

Rodriguez was convicted of three felony charges of sale of a controlled drug in April after he sold heroin to a confidential informant multiple times in 2015. He faces a maximum possible prison sentence of 45 years behind bars.

Prosecutors say Rodriguez is affiliated with a New Jersey-based arm of the Latin Kings and he moved to Dover to start gang activity there.

Rodriguez will remain held while he awaits sentencing.
