Officer-Involved Shooting Under Investigation in Merrimack, New Hampshire

The attorney general's office is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Merrimack, New Hampshire.

Harrison Lambert, 23, was critically injured as a result of the shooting, according to officials.

Joppa Road was still closed off Thursday night, hours after police responded to a domestic disturbance call shortly before 12:30 p.m. A man allegedly threatened his father with a knife.

Upon arrival, police say they encountered Lambert outside with a knife. One of the officers fired his gun, hitting Lambert.

Lambert was airlifted to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. The officers were not injured, and none of the residents at 8 Joppa Rd., where the 911 call was placed, were hurt, either.

"I had heard that police were called on him quite a few times by his own parents, just him acting angry," said neighbor Kayla Kimball, who said her father had to break up a fight Lambert had with another neighbor a few months ago.

The investigation is ongoing.

Both officers involved have been put on paid administrative leave until the investigation is complete, which officials say is normal procedure when departments investigate a police-involved shooting.
