Happy Thanksgiving!
We’re expecting perfect napping weather once the Tryptophan kicks in this afternoon. There was some concern over some freezing rain or snow, but the threat is quickly waning. Warmer air beat the precipitation into New England, which is great news for those of us doing local holiday. What falls from the sky will be wet, not white (at least for most of us).
Far northern New England will likely see two rounds of snow over the next four days. The first round will move in today – an inch or two of snow will fall in the Green and White mountains and northern Maine. We’re expecting a significant snowfall Saturday and Sunday will a developing coast storm. This storm will develop too far east to give southern New England any snow, but as low pressure moves into the Canadian Maritimes northern New England will get its fair share. Up to a foot of snow is possible – north of the Lakes Region in New Hampshire and areas west of coastal Maine.
Even though southern New England misses the snow, it won’t be a bright and sunny weekend. Showers will be around for your Black Friday shopping plans. Temperatures will warm into the upper 40s. If the weather does improve, that is most likely to happen Sunday. Skies might brighten during the afternoon.
