Thieves ran out of Giblees in Danvers with 15 Canada Goose coats.

A group of thieves attempted to steal thousands of dollars worth of high-end Canada Goose jackets from a men's clothing store in Massachusetts during a brazen, daylight heist that was thwarted by store employees and captured on surveillance video.

The Salem News reports a man and four women entered Giblees in Danvers around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

The owner of Giblees Menswear in Danvers says several men tried to steal 15 Canada Goose jackets, all but one of which was recovered. The jackets are worth $995-$1,050 apiece.

Workers say the group marched directly to the parkas near the back of the store. While one attempted to create a diversion, the others grabbed as many coats as they could and dashed for the door.

Employees attempted to block the door and tear the jackets away from the suspects, who dropped most of them as they jumped into a getaway car.

The suspects were located a few hours later in Lynn, and an unknown number of jackets were recovered from their car.

Store owner Alan Gibeley said it was the third time in recent months the store's Canada Goose jackets haves been targeted by organized shoplifting crews.

He estimates about 40 of the coats, most of which retail for more than $1,000, have been taken in the robberies.

Thursday's suspects, meanwhile, were charged with larceny over $1,200. They were expected to be arraigned Friday in Salem District Court.
