Sunny Breaks Warm Up Temps, But Rain Will Return

A drying trend continues today as the low pressure system that brought rain to the region yesterday moves offshore. We're expecting partly cloudy skies with highs in the 70s inland, 60s at the coast.

High clouds will build in ahead of next approaching weather system. A coastal low develops along stalled front south of New England overnight. This will result in renewed chance of rain showers across Rhode Island, Cape Cod and the Islands.

Any rain showers come to an end by tomorrow morning as coastal system continues to trek offshore. Highs tomorrow reach into the low to mid 70s inland, upper 60s at the coast.

A wind-swept rain moves in for Thursday as the next weather system moves into New England from the Ohio River Valley. Highs on Thursday won’t get out of the low 60s. Can’t rule out possible thunder during heavier rains. Low pressure stalls overhead, resulting in continued clouds and rain.

Cool temperatures prevail with highs hanging tough in the mid 60s. High pressure moves in for the tart of the memorial day weekend on Saturday. Expecting partly cloudy skies with highs rebounding into the upper 60s to near 70 degrees south and upper 60s north. Saturday will be the pick of the weekend. Another nice day on Sunday with partly sunny skies with highs on either side of 70 degrees across the south and upper 60s north.

Next weather system approaches on Memorial Day. Overall, expecting clouds and showers with highs in the upper 60s. More details are on the exclusive Early Warning Weather 10-Day Forecast on NBC Boston and necn.
