Surveillance Video Released in Possibly Connected Armed Robberies

Three store clerks were held at gunpoint in different locations Wednesday night in Manchester, New Hampshire, but police say they believe all three are connected.

Just before 8:30 p.m., the clerk at Union Street Market is sipping a cup of coffee, when suddenly a man in a mask holding a customer at gunpoint barges through the door. Video shows him then switching his target, pointing the gun at the clerk and demanding cash.

Police say just a couple hours earlier, there was a similar scene inside Crosstown Variety on the city's West Side. The victim there told police that the suspect threatened to kill her if she didn't give him money.

"By handing over and meeting the demands of the assailant that prevents things from escalating, and everyone followed to letter and basically, hand over your cash. A human life is not worth any amount of cash," Manchester Police Lt. Brian O'Keefe said.

The last robbery of the night happened at 777X-Press around 10:40 p.m.

Lt. O'Keefe says while it's not common to have three armed robberies in such short period of time, he says because of the city's heroin epidemic that nothing surprises him.

"Desperate times call for desperate measures, so if somebody needs money to get their fix for their drug habit, unfortunately heinous crimes like are probably going to continue," O'Keefe said.

Police believe there are two people involved in all three robberies. They're asking that if anyone recognizes the men in the video you just saw to call police.
