Survey: Many Americans Wasting Vacation Time

A new survey of 2,300 workers found they only use 51 percent of their paid vacation time

A new survey of 2,300 workers found they only use 51 percent of their paid vacation time, and 61 percent of them admit to working while on vacation.

Why is this happening? We spoke to Doctor David Gitlin, vice chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

He said that people are getting a work overload and that American businesses are not encouraging their workers to take vacation time.

Gitlin said that when people are well rested, their health costs go down, which is great for businesses.
