New Details in Suspicious Deaths of 2 People in Concord, NH

The bodies of a man and woman were found inside a unit at Concord Garden Apartments

A New Hampshire neighborhood is on edge as police investigate the suspicious deaths of two people found in an apartment in Concord.

The investigation is focused on building 19 at the Concord Garden Apartments. Investigators first responded to the scene at about 4 a.m. Friday when police responded to a 911 call.

“I’m horrified,” said neighbor Anne Tinker.

She says she didn’t hear anything out of the ordinary overnight, but woke up to the homicide investigation outside her front door.

When police responded to the apartment on Ormond Street, they said they found a man and a woman dead inside.

“We are trying to determine exactly who was home at the time and then also what the interaction may have been with the people inside,” explained Senior Asst. New Hampshire Attorney General Ben Agati.

Authorities said the scene is contained and there’s no danger to the public, but nearby residents said they can’t help but worry.

“That makes me nervous, anything like that, it’s scary, I just wonder what in the world happened,” said Tinker.

Police have not yet said whether the two victims are related, who they are, how they died, or who may be responsible for their deaths.

“It’s very unfortunate that that happened,” said resident Aayusha Kafley.

She said the area is a tight-knit community of refugee families with close connections.

“I think everyone is feeling pretty down about it, they’re Bhutanese, Nepalese - same as us,” she said.

The 13-year-old has lived in the neighborhood for two years and says she never expected to have a crime like this hit so close to home.

“No, no this is my first time even spotting this type of situation, so it’s scary,” the teenager said.

Authorities said they’re dealing with a large extended family and won’t identify the victims until their family members are all notified.

Autopsies will happen sometime this weekend.
