Twins Born 24 Days Apart Going Home Friday

After more than 3 months at Tufts Medical Center, Alexandre and Ronaldo Antunes are going home

Twin boys born 24 days apart three months ago are finally getting the OK from doctors to go home.

Alexandre and Ronaldo Antunes were originally due on June 18, but were born prematurely at Tufts Medical Center in March; Alexandre on March 2 at 24 weeks, 5 days and weighing 1 lb, 10 oz.; Ronaldo was born March 26 at 28 weeks, 1 day weighing at 3 lbs, 3 oz.

Tufts Medical Center points out that not only do the boys have different birthdays, but also have different zodiac signs and were born in different seasons.

Doctors at Tufts say cases of delayed interval delivery are extremely rare, and even less common to have nearly a month between births and for both babies to survive.

Alexandre and Ronaldo Antunes will be heading home Friday after 2:30 p.m.
