2 Arrested After Police Chase; Chief Hospitalized With Medical Emergency

Two people were arrested Friday after police chased them through multiple Vermont towns, and one police chief is reportedly in critical condition after suffering a medical emergency during the pursuit.

Vermont State Police gave chase to 52-year-old Jerry Savo and 29-year-old Emily Legacy. They are accused of aggravated assault, possession of stolen property, negligent operation and trying to elude police.

State police say they stopped Savo, who was driving, and Legacy around 2:15 p.m. in Jericho. He allegedly refused to comply and fled, leading police through multiple towns.

The two suspects were apprehended, state police confirmed around 7 p.m.

Richmond Police Chief Alan Buck suffered a medical emergency during that department's response, according to NBC 5. The nature of the emergency was not made clear.

Buck was reportedly listed in critical condition Friday night at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
