Accused Vermont City Marathon Groper Pleads Not Guilty

John Discola is expected to appear in court again Friday to answer to a second charge

A Massachusetts man accused of groping several women at the Vermont City Marathon pleaded not guilty on Thursday.

John Discola, 37, of Hadley, pleaded not guilty to a lewd and lascivious behavior charge, according to WPTZ. He also faces a count of lewd and lascivious behavior with a child, as police believe that he also groped a child at the marathon finish line in Burlington on Sunday. He is expected to return to court on Friday to be arraigned on that charge.

Additional charges may be forthcoming, police said, as several other women have reported being groped by Discola.

He is being held on a $25,000 bond.
