Body Found in Vermont River

Vermont State Police say the body of a man has been recovered from the Passumpsic River in Lyndonville.

Authorities say 22-year-old Alex Duranleau of St. Johnsbury went through the ice near the park and ride.

He was reported missing by his fiancee on Friday afternoon, after he had not shown up to work or classes at Lyndon State College.

Police found his vehicle at the park and ride, foot prints leading to the river and a jacket matching the description of the one he was wearing in the snow.

His body was recovered on Saturday.

Police are investigating and an autopsy will be performed. Police do not suspect foul play.
