The body of a Vermont snowmobile rider who went missing Saturday morning was pulled from a Plainfield pond Monday.
Vermont State Police launched a missing person search for Jordan Smith after receiving a report of a snowmobile that went through the ice on Ricker Pond in Groton State Park.
Smith was camping with friends when he went for a snowmobile ride on the pond. His friends called police around 2:30 a.m. Saturday when he didn’t return, according to necn affiliate WPTZ.
Tracks led to a hole in the ice, which is when dive teams were called in to search.
Police say there was no one else involved in the incident.
