Investigation Into Home Explosion Underway

No one was home at the time of the explosion

Authorities are investigating the cause of a home explosion in Vermont.

State police say it happened at 486 Upper Plain Rd. in Bradford just before 7 p.m. Thursday.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found the home heavily damaged.

Police learned the homeowner was out of town and that no one was in the residence at the time of the explosion.

Investigators with the state police's fire investigation and bomb squad units will start investigating on Friday after the remnants of the home are inspected for stability and safety.
