Cafeteria Worker Accused of Sexual Assault

Investigators say a food services employee had an illegal sexual relationship with two teen students

Vermont State Police say a school cafeteria worker sexually assaulted two students.

Valerie Gilmore, 27, of Lyndonville, worked for the catering company that provides meal services to Lyndon Institute.

Vermont State Police say they, along with the Department for Children and Families, received a report of an inappropriate relationship between Gilmore and two students who were 15 and 16.

Investigators say they discovered the illegal sexual contact took place off school grounds and after school hours.

Gilmore also allegedly gave the students cigarettes and alcohol on several occasions.

The suspect was cited to appear in court in January to answer to charges of sexual assault, furnishing alcohol to a minor, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, police said.

It is unclear if Gilmore has secured an attorney.

Gilmore's employer, Aladdin Food Management Services, has placed her on leave, police said.
