Fifteen people are scheduled to become naturalized United States citizens during an Independence Day ceremony at the Ethan Allen Homestead in Burlington.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services says the 15 people expected to be naturalized Monday include several couples and a family of three.
This ceremony is part of the agency's annual Independence Day celebration.
The people scheduled to take the oath of citizenship in Vermont are from Albania, Bhutan, India, Congo-Kinshasa, Dominican Republican, Jamaica, Peru, the former USSR, South Africa, and Togo.
Nationally, more than 7,000 people are scheduled to become new U.S. citizens in nearly 100 naturalization ceremonies across the country between Thursday and Monday, July 4.
