Cops: Man Driving 112 MPH Was on Way to Pay Speeding Ticket

The man was clocked going 112 mph and was weaving in and out of traffic

A 33-year-old Connecticut man told police he was headed to traffic court to take care of a speeding ticket when Vermont State Police say they pulled him over for driving over 100 mph.

Trooper Rich Slusser says the West Hartford man was clocked going 112 mph and was weaving in and out of traffic in Royalton on Interstate 89 Wednesday afternoon. The interstate is a 65 mph zone.

According to necn affiliate WPTZ, police have identified the man as Seth Tichenor, 33.

He has been charged with excessive speeding and negligent operation.

Slusser says Tichenor was given a citation ordering him to appear in Vermont Superior Court in White River Junction on Oct. 27.

Police say they have stopped about 10 drivers on interstate highways in the last month for going at least 100 mph in 55 and 65 mph zones.
