Fire crews are battled a fire at a former base lodge at Ascutney Mountain Resort in West Windsor, Vermont.

The fire was reported at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, when temperatures were about 10 below zero.

The Rutland Herald reports that many fire hoses were frozen.

West Windsor Fire Chief Mike Spackman says the building housed AT&T cell towers. He said the fire has knocked out cell phone service in the town.
