Dozens of Police Investigating Shooting Death of 23-Year-Old

Burlington police say more than two dozen officers are continuing to investigate the shooting death of a man whose body was found in his apartment over the weekend.

Police Chief Michael Schirling said Tuesday there is no new substantive information, but the investigation into the death of 23-year-old Kevin DeOliveira "is progressing in a number of specific directions."

Meanwhile, Tuesday, the Vermont Health Department released DeOliveira's death certificate, which ruled he died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

DeOliveira's body was found in his Greene Street apartment on Saturday when friends went to check on him after he was not heard from as expected.

DeOliveira was a New Jersey native who had been living in Burlington.
