Driver Busted for Speeding Twice in 5 Miles

Benny Wercberger was clocked doing 97 mph in a 65 mph zone and then again going 90 mph just 5 miles down the highway

A New York man was busted by police for speeding twice in a 5-mile stretch of Interstate 91 in Vermont on Thursday morning.

A 2015 mercedes SUV driven by Benny Wercberger, 30, of Monroe, New York, was stopped by Vermont State Police on I-91 north in Bradford around 9:30 a.m. after he was clocked doing 97 mph in a 65 mph zone.

He was issued a ticket for speeding and released from the stop. Five miles later, troopers clocked the same vehicle going 90 mph.

Wercberger was arrested for negligent operation of a vehicle and excessive speed. He was released on a citation and is scheduled to appear in Orange County Court on Aug. 26.
