Driver Dead After Car Collides With Truck in Vermont

Neither the name nor gender of the victim of the 1:30 p.m. Monday crash is being released until relatives can be notified

Vermont State Police say the driver of a car is dead after colliding with a truck on U.S. Route 2 in the town of Cabot.

Neither the name nor gender of the victim of the 1:30 p.m. Monday crash is being released until relatives can be notified.

Police say the victim was traveling west on the roadway that had patches of slush and ice when the vehicle went out of control, crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with the truck.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
