Ex-Inn Employee Pleads Guilty to Embezzling $70K

Thirty-nine-year-old Carmen Dozier had originally pleaded not guilty in February

A Vermont woman has pleaded guilty to bank and wire fraud charges accusing her of embezzling $70,000 from the Brandon Inn where she worked as front desk manager.

Thirty-nine-year-old Carmen Dozier had originally pleaded not guilty in February. The Rutland Herald reports that she changed her plea on Tuesday.

Court records say between July 2013 and May 2014 Dozier falsified payroll records to inflate the hours she worked; transferred inn funds to her personal bank account and used credit cards issued to the inn's owners to make personal purchases.

Dozier is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 14.
